A "partnership in crime" is forged at
Sage Reference's recent celebration,
held at John Jay College

Sage Reference launched its first title, the monumental Encyclopedia of Crime and Punishment at a festive reception held in the President's Office of John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York City on April 2, 2002.

The highlight of the well-attended event was when Sage Reference donated not only a generous sum to the college, but also the first copy of the multi-volume Encyclopedia of Crime and Punishment, by award-winning editor, David Levinson, to the John Jay College Library

On hand for the occasion was Rolf Janke, Vice President and Publisher of Sage Reference, who pointed out, "Of the Encyclopedia of Crime and Punishment's 275 contributors, many are John Jay College faculty members."  Janke said, "It was planned all along that Sage Reference's launch title would be in the area of criminal justice, since Sage Publishing's list of books and journals on this topic is very strong."

Sage Reference's mission is to publish high quality social science reference works (including encyclopedias, dictionaries and handbooks, in print and digital formats),  written and developed by world class scholars, tested by a Librarian Advisory Board and sold to academic and public libraries worldwide – with exceptional service.

With offices in Thousand Oaks, CA; London UK and New Delhi, Sage Publications just celebrated 35 years of publishing excellence of academic journals and books.
